THE SANCTUARY Plenty, Victoria The Sanctuary is the most secluded and sought after location in Plenty. Its 35 lots rise from the huge park and wetlands reserve with views over picturesque adjacent farmland. All lots at The Sanctuary are over 1000m2 and offer residents a carefully designed hideaway within minutes of Greensborough and Diamond Creek. The nearby Western Ring Road provides easy access to the centre of Melbourne and its wider metropolitan region. DACLAND was required to address complex servicing issues when developing this site, not the least of which was the treatment of Dry Creek - a tributary of the Plenty River. This waterway underwent a comprehensive program of rubbish removal, weed eradication and the creation of a “pool and riffle” system that filters storm water before it flows into local rivers. The waterway reserve also provides a habitat refuge for indigenous flora and fauna, so development of the site required careful management of plant, tree and wildlife species including the Austral Crane's-bill (a vulnerable plant of State significance), and the Nankeen Night Heron (a nationally significant water bird).
